Lendlease wins backing for Timberyard build-to-rent phase

Lendlease has secured planning permission for the next stage of its Timberyard Deptford development.

Phase two of the scheme features four buildings that will comprise 251 build-to-rent apartments.
The project will also deliver 439 sq m of retail and leisure space.

The development, designed by Hawkins\Brown Architects, will feature prefabricated cross-laminated timber frames (CLT), offsite constructed bathroom pods and green roofs.

Lendlease Europe head of residential Richard Cook said: “The Timberyard Deptford features a number of exciting innovations.
“The prefabricated CLT frame, combined with bathroom pods constructed offsite and green roofs across all buildings, will create a high-quality, sustainable scheme of which Deptford can be proud.”

Last week, Lendlease was chosen by HS2 as master development partner on the £4bn redevelopment of the area around Euston station.
In January the firm’s £2bn regeneration project in Harringay was thrown into doubt after the council’s leader announced she was leaving her role.
